Spiral Collection, A View on Simplicity, Repetition, and Playfulness
The foundation of my collection, "Metal Spirals," rests upon a design philosophy that embodies simplicity, repetition, and playfulness.
Simplicity finds expression through the profound concept of the line, a fundamental element in drawing, geometry, and various artistic disciplines. By adopting clean lines, free from unnecessary embellishments, I seek to evoke a sense of elegance and purity, allowing the intrinsic beauty of the materials to shine. Additionally, simplicity is further accentuated by the cold connection technique I deliberately chose to build the majority of the collection. It enhances the difficulty of balancing a minimalist expression aesthetic with the prominent cold connections. This deliberate juxtaposition embraces the beauty of simplicity while celebrating the raw presence of the connections in every piece.
Repetition plays an essential role in shaping the forms and volumes of my "Spirale en Métal" pieces. Spirals, with their graceful curves, become the embodiment of volume within the collection. By skillfully intertwining and crossing spirals, I create structures that invite exploration and captivate the viewer from different angles. This repetition adds depth and simplicity, transforming each piece into a captivating object.
The element of playfulness infuses my collection with a joyful and interactive atmosphere. Spirals, with their versatile nature, offer infinite possibilities and transformations. By imaginatively combining and manipulating one or multiple spiral pieces, I explore new forms. The "Spirale en Métal" collection allows wearers to become co-creators, encouraging them to experiment and find their own personal expressions of style. This dynamic fosters a joyful connection between the jewelry and its wearers.
By embracing simplicity, repetition, and playfulness, my "Spirale en Métal" creations offer unique and captivating pieces. It is an honor to contribute to Quebec's rich artistic tapestry, and I invite you to join me in celebrating Métiers d'Art at Plein d'art, where the beauty of simplicity meets the power of repetition and the pleasure of playfulness.
